Included with the sale of this Shelby GT500KR 40th Anniversary Edition is the framed June 2007 issue of MOTOR TREND magazine featuring the silver/blue GT500KR prototype show car on the cover, with the cover of the magazine AUTOGRAPHED by Carroll Shelby, and includes a letter of authenticity.

This car is a genuine Shelby Automobiles, Inc. GT500KR 40thAnniversary conversion (a $35,665 upgrade) performed by Shelby American Inc. in Las Vegas, NV in 2008. #263.

The “King of the Road” version of the GT500 was released as a limited-edition model that began as a Shelby GT500 Mustang, which was shipped to the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas, where upfitting to KR status was performed before being shipped to the selling dealer. The Ford SVT-engineered 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 was enhanced with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack to boost horsepower to 540 and torque to 510 foot-pounds. The added power came via revised ignition and air/fuel calibration, a throaty Ford Racing-inspired dual exhaust, and a cold-air intake system that was specially designed to mate perfectly against the KR’s unique carbon fiber hood.

The KR Conversion also included the following – SVT tuned suspension package (performance-tuned front/rear springs/front struts/rear springs, stiffer front/rear sway bars, and a strut tower brace), Ford Racing power upgrade package (includes cold air intake kit, performance calibration, Ford Racing brake duct cooling kit (customer to install - still new, in the box, included with the sale), Ford Racing short throw shifter & shifter ball, 18” forged aluminum Shelby GT500KR wheels with P255/45/ZR18 front and P285/40/ZR18 rear Goodyear F1 Track/Street tires (New Goodyear F1s installed in 2018 – they have less than 3,000 miles on them), Shelby hood and trunk letter kit, Shelby GT500KR carbon fiber components (hood, front splitter, and mirror skull caps), Shelby hood pins, Shelby CSM numbered badges(dash and engine compartment), Shelby GT500KR fender and grille emblems,Carroll Shelby signature headrests, Custom Shelby floor mat badges, and a Shelby Racing stripe kit.
